Cute French Armoire

I love, love, love how this piece turned out.  This armoire is painted cream with light distressing and then a wax coat to finish it off.  I really contemplated painting the inside a fun color like purple or teal blue but I'm glad I went traditional and used the cream paint for the inside as well.  This piece was really scratched up and full of cat hair!  Seriously, did the cat live in it?  I had to spend a lot of time with the clorox wipes and then sanding out all those scratches before i could paint.  I found the cute blingy knobs at Hobby Lobby--they really finish the piece off.

Turquoise Table

So my friend had a nice solid counter height table with 6 chairs that needed a face lift.  Structurally in great shape, but a small fire caused a few damage spots on the chairs and on the leaf of the table. She picked a really bright turquoise blue from Valspar called Laguna Green.  I have to admit I was a little scared about how bright green it was.  But after the glaze and distressing it is the perfect pop of color in her kitchen.  She wanted the top to have a more rustic/reclaimed wood look so I just did a really light stain on it just to bring out the distressing on it.

Yellow

So here's the before...
Pretty beat up.  I decided the bottom was not worth the effort to save since the wood on the sides was so beat up.  I didn't get a picture but the veneer on the top was peeling so bad that I had to chip it all off.  No big deal since I was planning on painting it anyways.

After carefully prying the top piece off from the ugly bottom portion I added some cute legs from Lowe's and here's what I ended up with.  Cute and Yellow and perfect for the tiny little space in my toilet room.
